Established in 1889 by papal certification from Pope Leo XIII, The Leo House offers a deeply rooted history, a unique turn of the century charm and special ambiance that attracts a wide variety of visitors.
The Leo House is owned and operated by its own Board of Trustees, consisting of laity, religious, and clergy committed to upholding the spirit of Christian hospitality.
Mass is offered Tuesday through Friday at 7am in The Leo House chapel. We warmly welcome our Priest-in-Residence, Father Ed Conway, who has been with us since February 2016.

The hostel was really nice. Individual toilets in the rooms with a basin and then shared showers. Very clean, decent wifi, good breakfast spread and friendly, helpful staff. Great location to the subway and the rest of NYC. The rooms are a good size considering how close to the city we were. Air conditioning in the rooms was excellent.
We had a very nice 3-day stay at The Leo House. The hotel is in a great location near the 23rd St. station (no more than 3 min walk). We could find some good pharmacies around. All of them were walking distance. The staff was very friendly at all times and we had no problems at all. The room was clean and well furnished. We got everything we needed, including a very nice queen bed. I totally recommend and I hope we can return soon.
The Leo House was perfect for us. The room was clean with daily service, staff were very friendly and helpful, great location close to the subway, awesome free all you can eat hot or cold breakfast plus the price was right. I would recommend The Leo House to anyone traveling on a budget.
