5 NYC Activities to Close Out Summer 2019

From sporting events to food festivals to movie screenings and sand castle contests – with so many NYC activities going on the summer clearly isn’t over yet in Manhattan and the surrounding areas. See a Concert at Forest Hills Stadium

Close out your summer with an outdoor concert while watching the sun set. Forest Hills Stadium hosts many talented and well-known artists and it is easy to get there. It is a 14 minute subway ride from Penn Station using the E, F, M or R trains.  Forest Hills Stadium is located at 1 Tennis Pl, Forest Hills, NY 11375.

Attend the US Open of Tennis

Get tickets to watch the world’s best tennis players compete at the 2019 US Open. It runs from August 26th through September 8th at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Flushing Meadow Corona Park, Flushing, NY 11368. Take the NYC subway using the 7 train to Mets-Willets Point Station and walk from there.

See a Mets Game

There is nothing like attending a baseball game in the summer at Citi Field. There are plenty of home baseball games to choose from at the beautiful Citi Field Stadium, which offers an experience in itself. Don’t forget your camera because there are plenty of photo opportunities throughout the ballpark, including a massive baseball glove you can sit in as well as an enlarged Coca-Cola beach chair. If you go during a weekend night, you may be able to score some free giveaways on behalf of the game sponsor for the evening. It is easy to get to by taking the NYC subway using the 7 train to Mets-Willets Point Station and walk from there.

Camp: Notes on Fashion at the MET

If an air-conditioned day filled with fashion and art is more your speed, visit the Costume Institute’s Exhibition at the Met. The Camp Exhibition examines how the elements of irony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration are expressed in fashion.
