Celebrating Mother’s Day 2020

Every May, we celebrate International Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of the month to recognize and honor the unconditional love and endless efforts of moms everywhere. This year is more important than ever to show the Mothers in your life just how much you care.

Moms around the world have different needs right now. There are moms who are juggling homeschooling children while balancing a career to moms of adult children, grandmothers and godmothers who may be lonely or isolating by themselves – reach out and show you care. There are moms who are on the front lines working in healthcare or essential businesses – we appreciate you!

These days, we’ve had to find ways to show we care without having to physically be somewhere. You can set up a video chat tea party or lunch to spend some quality time with the mom in your life. Some people are even learning how to cook together over video chat or watch a movie together as well. For those who may not have access to video chat, or may be using it too frequently for work to want to use it during free time, you can come up with other ideas.

Making a donation in your Mother’s name towards a cause that is special to her could be a touching gesture. While it is difficult with restrictions in place to go shopping, if your Mom lives close enough you can support local businesses by sending her a meal, some baked goods or flowers.

The most important thing to keep in mind during this time is that even though we can not be together physically, we can be together in spirit in many ways. Show the Mothers in your life that you care in a way that works for you.
