I said a Valentine prayer for you
And asked the Lord above

To fill your heart and bless your soul
With the precious gift of love.

I asked Him for sincere love
The kind that is meant to stay

Just like the generous love
You give to those You touch each day.

I prayed for love from family
And from every cherished friend

Then I asked the Lord to give you 
His love that knows no end.

I said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard,
I felt the answer in my heart although he spoke no word.

Though I did not ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn’t mind.
I asked Him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind.

I asked that He’d be near you at the start of each new day.
To grant you health and blessings and friends to share your way.

I asked for happiness for you in all things great and small.
But it was for His loving care I prayed for most of all.

I thank you, Lord for giving me such a wonderful try friend.
You knew how much I’d need one, and you knew just who to send.

A true friend who is always there with willing helping hands.
A shoulder I can lean upon and a heart that understands.
