Searching for Rainbows – Prayers for 2021

We are searching for rainbows in 2021. They say after every storm comes a rainbow. We translate this saying to daily life in the way that when we go through hard times we hope for better times ahead, just like looking for the rainbow that comes after the storm. With all the hardships people faced in 2020, we certainly had high hopes that a new year would wipe the slate clean and help us start fresh. Did you feel that way too? We are still trying to shake off 2020 and the fear, uncertainty and isolation that wreaked havoc on our global community. But with hope and faith that God will guide us through this time, we know this storm shall pass and the rainbow will emerge. Will you help us search for the rainbows in 2021?

Rainbows are a Symbol of Hope

Rainbows are a symbol of hope in many cultures. Just this year, Pope Francis said, “The future does have a name, and its name is Hope.” The year of 2020 brought with it a lot of heartache, losses, suffering and maybe even hard feelings towards one another. The world may seem as if people are constantly at odds. But, if you take a step back to see the bigger picture, you may also witness many people showing love, compassion, healing, forgiveness and sacrifice for others in a way that is truly beautiful. Is this not experiencing a rainbow after a storm in a different form?

Let us approach 2021 with hope and empowerment through God to be a rainbow to others, starting a trend of loving endeavors that spread across the world. If you initiate a random act of kindness or love, did you know it can trigger a domino-effect where you can inspire others to do the same? Your one small act can reach millions if it continues.
